About Me

My path to becoming a counselor has been anything but traditional. Before entering the world of mental health, I spent years working in government—a career that taught me about responsibility, perseverance, navigating complexity, and the many different stories people carry with them.

Later in life, I made the decision to return to graduate school and begin an entirely new chapter. It was a leap of faith, but one that felt deeply right. Becoming a counselor allowed me to bring together my professional experiences with my lifelong curiosity about people, relationships, and what shapes us into who we become.

Outside of my professional life, I've been busy living the wonderfully imperfect adventure of raising three children and navigating a blended family. There have been plenty of meaningful moments, a fair share of challenges, and more than a few situations where a sense of humor was probably the best response. Those experiences have taught me that life rarely follows a script and that relationships, like people, can be beautifully complicated.

I don't believe you need to have all the answers to live a meaningful life. I bring curiosity, warmth, perspective, and a genuine interest in the people I have the privilege of working with. I value authenticity and believe some of the most meaningful conversations happen when we can let go of who we think we're supposed to be.

Evidence-Based Techniques
I use proven therapeutic approaches selected to support your individual needs, goals, and personal journey. These include EMDR, Brainspotting, CBT, breathwork, parts, mindfulness, and body based approaches.

My Approach to Therapy

Attachment-Based

Attachment-based therapy helps you understand how early relationships and life experiences can shape the way you connect, communicate, and respond to others. It focuses on building a stronger sense of security, trust, and connection so you can develop healthier relationships with yourself and those around you.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps you recognize the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they can influence one another. It provides practical tools to challenge unhelpful thought patterns and develop healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges.

Person-Centered

Person-Centered Therapy provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. It focuses on building self-awareness, confidence, and personal growth while helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and the changes you want to make.

Relational

Relational Therapy explores how your relationships and connections with others can shape the way you think, feel, and respond to life’s challenges. It provides a supportive space to understand relationship patterns, strengthen communication, build healthier connections, and create more fulfilling relationships.

Trauma Focused

Trauma-Focused Therapy provides a safe, supportive space to process difficult or traumatic experiences and understand how they may continue to affect your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily life. It focuses on healing at your pace while developing healthier coping skills, restoring a sense of safety, and building confidence for moving forward.
